Psalm 4:3 (HCSB)
Know that the Lord has set apart the faithful for Himself; the Lord will hear when I call to Him.
Are you a believer in Christ? Is He your Lord? Have you repented of your sins? Have you come to the realization that you need a Savior? Have you invited Jesus to dwell in your heart? If you have done these things, praise the Lord! You are a Christian, heaven will one day be your final resting place with God, and you are justified (declared righteous). It gets better! The Lord has set you apart, His faithful, for Himself. Imagine that! And, He will hear you when you call to Him.
Does this mean you will never sin again? I doubt it. All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). Does this mean you can ask the Lord for anything, as if He is a genie in a bottle? You can ask, but He will hear you only if your request is according to His will (1 John 5:14-15). Does this mean you can do anything you want in life? You can, but Scripture teaches us not to abuse our Christian liberty (Gal. 5:13); that we should not be a stumbling block to the weak (1 Cor. 8:9).
What this does mean is that you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, and God’s own special person (1 Peter 2:9). It also means that salvation is now part of your spiritual DNA (Romans 10:9). This also means that Almighty God has a specific plan for your life. The God of all things, visible and invisible, cares about you so much that He has set you apart from all others for His plan for you! Additionally, God is your refuge and strength, your help in times of trouble (Ps. 46:1).
This is news worth sharing! People will die today who do not know the Lord. From a spiritual perspective, the Christian’s most important responsibility is to share Jesus with those that do not know Him. Rejoice today, but do not rest in your salvation. Share it with others so they may have the hope of eternal life in Christ Jesus!
