Proverbs 11:4 (NIV)
Wealth is worthless in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death.

My pastor once told me that he has officiated many funerals and not once was a storage unit attached to the back of the hearse.  Come to think of it, I have never seen that either.  Your possessions are absolutely worthless to you upon taking your final breath.  For dust you are and to dust you shall return (Gen. 3:19, NKJV).

However, the state of your spiritual walk greatly matters!  There are two choices, saved or unsaved.  That’s it!  Either Christ is Lord and Savior of your life or He is not.  This decision must be made while you have breath.  If you believe that Jesus is Lord, you have been declared righteous by God.  This does not mean you will never sin again.  You will.  But it does mean that you have the hope of salvation.  The unsaved do not have this hope.  Consider it a blessing if Christ is Lord of your life.  According to Prov. 11:4, the righteous are delivered from death.  Praise the Lord!

Proverbs 11 has much to say about the righteous.  Below are five declarations (verses are provided in parenthesis).
• (6a) The righteous are delivered.
• (11a) Cities are exalted through the blessings of the righteous.
• (20b) The Lord delights in the righteous.
• (23b) The desire of the righteous is good.
• (28b) The righteous will thrive like a green leaf.

Can you find other examples of the righteous in Proverbs 11?  Take time to share with those around you the goodness of God and His plan of salvation for all who believe in Jesus!  They may not know of this good news.  Together, let us do our part to flood Heaven with newborn believers in Christ, the only hope for eternal salvation.
